Project Description

Medical ultrasound beam-former design is demanding because modern systems must generate accurate two-dimensional or three-dimensional images of internal organs, tissue and blood flow.

The beam former is a central digital signal-processing function. Image quality across large depth ranges depends on the combination of dynamic focusing and dynamic apodization.

This prototype explores high-gain beam formation and steering for medical and structural-analysis applications.
